While still learning her place among the stable’s juveniles, Thyme To Go has already stood out for trainer Annabel Archibald thanks to her imposing physique.

The I Am Invincible filly is significantly bigger than many of her stablemates and will step out for the first time in Saturday’s $160,000 Kia Ora Yearlings @ MMGC Plate (1000m) at Randwick.

Purchased for $260,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Thyme To Go has progressed well enough to debut early in the new year, and Archibald is keen to see how the filly handles race pressure.

“She’s very big – she’d be the biggest two-year-old in the stable – she’s quite mature looking,” Archibald told SENTrack.

“I think she’s going to be better over a little bit further, but I think this is a good starting point.

“She’s got a massive stride, so hopefully she can break well and have plenty of room.”

Saturday’s race includes six unraced runners, alongside well-related youngsters such as Godolphin’s Outspan and Tatiana, plus Excelluna and Sweet Intent, both high-priced yearlings.

The most expensive runner is Knightsbridge, a $750,000 Magic Millions purchase who finished fifth in the Group 3 Breeders Plate (1000m), while Final Gift has also had race experience via the Max Lees Classic (900m).

Thyme To Go, from the well-known Denise’s Joy family, was beaten in her first trial but turned the tables with a strong half-length trial win at her most recent outing.

“The horse that was second there in the trial, Knightsbridge, is in the field as well,” Archibald pointed out.

“She’s obviously a first starter and being a two-year-old it’s always a little bit of an unknown, but she is a lovely filly.”

Drawn barrier one with Zac Lloyd aboard, Thyme To Go is rated a leading chance behind Knightsbridge and Profitabelle.
